What we collect, and why.

Short version: we collect what you type into our forms so we can answer you. We do not sell it, share it, or send you marketing you did not ask for.

What we collect

Only what you give us. From the contact form: your name, business name, email, current website address, budget range and your message. From the project questionnaire: the same, plus your answers about the business, the site you have now, and what you need it to do. If you email or call us, whatever is in that.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested. We use those to keep the site running and to stop abuse, nothing else.

From the free site checker: the web address you asked us to look at, what the check found, and the IP address it was run from. The address is kept only to stop the tool being used to attack other people's sites, and it is erased after 90 days. If you ask for the written report we also keep the email address you gave us for it.

If we email you a link to the longer questionnaire, that form saves your answers as you type them, so closing the tab by accident does not lose your work. That means answers you typed but never submitted reach us as well. Nothing is saved until you start typing, and the short form on the home page does not do this at all.

Why we have it

To reply to you, to prepare a quote, and to keep a record of the conversation if you become a client. That is the whole list.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or rent your enquiry, and we do not share it with advertisers. Three third parties are involved in running this site: our web host, which stores the data on our behalf; Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces and therefore sees your IP address as your browser fetches them; and Google Analytics, described below.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether they go on to contact us. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, roughly where you are, and which pages you looked at. We use it to understand whether the site is working, not to build a profile of you, and we do not run advertising or share this with advertisers.

It does not run until you say so. The first time you visit, a card asks; Analytics loads only if you choose Accept all. Closing the card, or choosing Essential only, keeps just the session cookie below. Your answer is remembered in your browser, not sent to us, and you can change it here at any time.

We also set one temporary session cookie of our own, which protects our forms from abuse. It is deleted when you close your browser.

If you would rather not be counted, browser "do not track" settings, ad blockers and Google's own opt-out add-on all stop it, and nothing on this site breaks when they do.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted after two years. This runs automatically rather than when somebody remembers: the record, its notes and any site audit attached to it are removed together.

IP addresses recorded by the site checker are erased after 90 days, as are the records of failed sign-in attempts to our own admin.

Client records are kept while you are a client and for seven years afterwards, because tax rules require it.

Having it removed

Email hello@povwebsolutions.com and ask. We will delete what we are not legally required to keep, and tell you what is left and why. No form to fill in, no delay.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are stored on our host, behind access controls, and are not published anywhere. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

If this page changes materially we will note it here. Last updated 24 August 2026.
